Asking for Directions

In German, to ask how to get somewhere, you can use phrases like Wie komme ich zu ...? or Wie gelangt man zu ...? For instance, if you’re looking for a train station, say:
* Wie komme ich zum Bahnhof?
Or to find the post office:
* Wie gelangt man zur Post?

To ask where something is located, use:
* Wo ist ...? (for singular locations—Wo ist die Apotheke?)
* Wo sind ...? (for plural—Wo sind die Toiletten?)

* an der Ecke (at the corner): Used when locating or turning at a street corner.

Giving Directions
